Storage and file sharing service Dropbox has just started a new service that allows workgroups to share up to one terabyte disk space.
The new service called Dropbox for Teams and will cost $795 per year and includes accounts for five users. If you need more users, you can expand with additional accounts for $125 per user. With each additional account the disk space is expanded by 200 gigabytes, which should be enough for most projects 😉
Dropbox for Teams are storing files in a server run by Amazon’s S3 storage service and encrypted with 256 bit AES encryption, for maximum security and privacy.
Unlike Dropbox free service, Dropbox for Teams comes with sharper management tools to set up rules and rights for the files. It is also possible to convert an existing Dropbox account with all files intact to Dropbox for Teams. Dropbox for Teams also have phone support in case you need it.
When someone in the workgroup makes changes in a file, the changes are synced with all units connected to the account making the changes available to all users in the team. Dropbox is compatible with Windows, OSX, Linux, Ios, Android and Blackberry.
