Twitter is the best mico-blogging service where users can easily tell the world short messages as soon as they happen. But the downside with Twitter is that they don’t earn any money at the moment, and all Twitter fans should be concerned about this since a service that can’t earn any money at all can hardly survive in the long run. I think this is one of the reasons for all the rumours that one bigger player like Facebook or even Google will acquire Twitter, but luckily they’ve all turned out to be just rumours 🙂 An independent Twitter is much much better for the Internet then a
Twitter incorporated into one of the giants on the Net.
But since Twitter must have some kind of income to survive, what will they do? Show ads? I really hope not since that will most likely make the service load slower then today and also cause a lot of users to stop using Twitter.
Biz Stone, one of the founders of Twitter, is giving the world some clues on how Twitter will survive in the future at Reuters Global Technology Summit in New York. Twitter will start selling add-on services for companies using Twitter to communicate with their customers. The add-on services can be things like analysing tools, and special company accounts to guarantee it’s the correct company behind the user name.
I think this is great and this will make Twitter even better. The users still get the service and functionality they expect from Twitter and Twitter will earn money from companies who have released how important it is to get in touch with their customers on Twitter.
As an example on how important it is to be on Twitter as a company in the modern world we can mention ComHem, a Swedish ISP offering Internet, cable TV and phone services. Recently they had a major break down in their system
causing almost all their customers to lose Internet, TV and phones for several hours. Even their own web site stopped working so they had no way to give their customers information on what was going on. Their customers started asking questions on Twitter, but since ComHem didn’t use Twitter themselves they could answer…….
Later ComHem sent apologies to all their customers on Twitter and it looks like they have implemented a backup plan to contact their customers on Twitter in case this happens again. Lets just hope more companies learn from this experience.
how i publish my advertise pls tell me
Do you mean you want to know how to tweet?
Well I think Twitter should go for something like Adwords and let people advertise on Twitter.
That’ll be a huge business model.
Good post. Looks like they’re trying to mimic Facebook’s corporate pages, or something similar.
Seems like everyone else is already making money off twitter, except twitter! People have even started selling twitter account names on places like http://assetize.com.
