Yet another MyXavier upgrade

It wasn’t long ago when we upgraded MyXavier to version 0.9.3, but now we’ve done two more upgrades. First to version 0.9.4 and now yesterday to 0.9.5. These two latest upgrades also got a lot of nice features for you to play around with. One of the first things you will notice is that you can now use a rich text editor to make your text bold, italic and strike through. Using the new text editor it’s also easier to add links since you don’t have to write the full link in your status message (counting towards the 140 character limit), but you can instead use a keyword and add the link to that keyword 😉

It’s also possible to add pictures in the editor and you can even type your status updates in full screen mode 😉 .  Full screen mode is perhaps not so important thing since you can still only post 140 characters….but it’s a nice feature and it’s always nice to have the possibility even if you don’t use it 😉

Another change is the removal of www in the myxavier.com domain name. You will still be able to access the site with www, but you will be redirected to myxavier.com without www. This is not really a new feature, but it’s purely for branding purposes.

In the near future (read next week) we’re planning to activate our spam fighting bot (@spam) to check the URL’s (links) that are posted in status messages at MyXavier.com. The spam bot will classify the pages found at the links posted to see if the pages are spam or not and if they are classified as spam, a warning will be sent to the user asking them to increase the quality in their posts.

In next version of @spam (planned launch date in October) the spam bot will not only warn if your links are counted as spam, but it will also deactivate spamming accounts after a few warnings (depending on how spammy the links are).

To make sure your account is not mistaken for a spammer you can add an avatar and stop posting links to pages only promoting affiliate programs (including Amazons partner program). If you’re links contain good and useful content they will not be counted as spam even if you have a few ads on your pages, but don’t over do it with ads because then you may get a warning from @spam.

@spam is using the fantastic classifier from uclassify.com if you would like to check it out.
